What data we collect

RankProof accesses your Shopify store data through the Shopify Admin API with your explicit permission. We access:

• Product titles, descriptions, images, and SEO metadata (to generate meta tags and audit SEO)
• Page content and collection data (for SEO auditing)
• Store name and domain (for app configuration)

How we use your data

Your data is used solely to provide SEO optimization services within the app. We send product data to OpenAI's API for AI-powered meta tag generation. No personal customer data is collected, stored, or processed.

Data storage

SEO audit results, generated meta tags, and schema markup records are stored in our secure PostgreSQL database. Data is encrypted in transit via TLS/SSL.

Data sharing

We do not sell or share your data with third parties. Product data sent to OpenAI for meta tag generation is not stored by OpenAI per their API data usage policy.

Data deletion

When you uninstall RankProof, all your data is automatically deleted from our systems. We handle Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact) to ensure complete data removal.

Clean uninstall guarantee

RankProof uses only Shopify APIs and metafields — we inject zero code into your theme. When you uninstall, there is no orphaned code or broken functionality left behind.
